Summer 2006

The Irish Echo

"This summer light, fresh colors are big," according to Steven Kank, who owns "Nails on 54th" in Manhattan. "A French manicure always looks good, in pink or white." Kank likes Eassie's range of summer nail polishes. Preparation is the key to a perfect manicure and pedicure, he said. "Make sure your manicurist cleans all polish of your fingers and toes, and clips your cuticles," advised Kank. "Massage oil will really soften your skin and cuticles. The more time you give your polish to dry, the better it will set." He also recommended investing in a good quality topcoat, which he said will help to keep your manicure intact if applied daily, and to avoid prolonged contact with water. "Use gloves if you’re doing the dishes," he warned.
